Electric Offensive: From Tesla Trucks to Nissan's City Cars
This week, the automotive industry is accelerating on several fronts at once. Tesla is preparing to conquer European highways with an electric truck, the Polish market is undergoing a clear shake-up in favor of Chinese brands, and Nissan is reviving a forgotten name from its past to win over city drivers. We take a look at what this means for the automotive, tuning, and e-mobility sectors.

01 · Heavy Transport
Tesla Semi Heads to Europe – Premiere in Hanover
Tesla has confirmed that the full technical specifications and details of the European launch of its electric Semi truck will be revealed at the IAA Transportation trade fair in Hanover, running from September 15 to 20, 2026 [1]. For now, the company is keeping the range, pricing, and exact availability date for European customers under wraps, but the announcement itself signals that electrification is no longer confined to passenger cars. Heavy transport, long a diesel stronghold, is increasingly embracing the electric era – and Tesla wants to be among the first players in this race on the Old Continent.
02 · Polish Market
Chinese Offensive and a Cooler August for EVs in Poland
While Tesla is thinking about European routes from a trucker's perspective, something equally significant is happening on the domestic front. The latest report from the Związek Dealerów Samochodów and PZPM for August 2026 shows that the share of Chinese manufacturers in the Polish new passenger car market climbed to a record 15.9 percent [2]. This is a clear sign that brands from the Yangtze region are no longer a curiosity, but a real force that both dealers and Western automakers now have to reckon with.
The electric segment fared worse, however – registrations of battery-electric cars fell by as much as 34 percent year-on-year, with their market share shrinking to 4.8 percent. The main culprit is the lack of government subsidies, which has clearly cooled customer enthusiasm. The premium segment also weakened, with its share dropping to the lowest level of all 2026. This data provides important context for exhibitors and visitors alike – it shows that the Polish market is still searching for a balance between global electrification trends and local pricing realities.
03 · Urban EVs
Nissan Brings Back Pixo – an Affordable Electric City Car
Despite a weaker August for EVs in Poland, manufacturers are not slowing down preparations for new city models. Nissan has announced the return of the Pixo name, which will be given to a new, small A-segment electric car designed with urban drivers in mind [3]. The model will be built at the Revoz plant in Slovenia and, interestingly, will share its technical platform with the Renault Twingo E-Tech and the Dacia Spring. It's further proof of how much platform-sharing within automotive groups is now speeding up the development of affordable EVs. Full technical specifications for the Nissan Pixo will be revealed on September 23, 2026 – just a few days from now.
